A Trip Off the Budget Path

Posted on 03/03/202003/16/2020 by margrad80

A friend treated me to a trip to the Galápagos Islands. That was really kind of her, since I really can’t afford to do things like that. That being said, I will write this post as if I where the one paying for everything. I don’t want to give the reader an unrealistic idea of…

A Year of Nomadic Foods

Posted on 09/06/2019 by margrad80

After I sold my place in Honolulu, I was able to stay at a friends place until it was time for me to fly out. I really had no idea of when or even if I would be returning. I have to say, that during that time I ran around eating all my favorite Hawaiian…

Last Days in Warsaw: 2019

Posted on 07/21/2019 by margrad80

This post will be published out of order, since I decided that the story of my last few days in Warsaw really didn’t need to be written if I got pressed for time. As it turns out, I have found myself with some time on my hands here in Medellin, Colombia. The apartment here is…

A Mistake Rules the Day in Warsaw: June 17, 2019

Posted on 06/24/2019 by margrad80

I decided to head over to go to the sprawling Łazienki Park. I had walked there before, and realized that if I walked round trip, I wouldn’t have any energy left to walk about the park. I checked out Google maps and saw that I could take the 17 tram, connecting to the 10 tram,…

Eating Around Warsaw: June 6 – 9, 2019

Posted on 06/21/201906/23/2019 by margrad80

To be perfectly honest, I am getting tired of living in Warsaw. I am ready to move on, but there is another month to go before I leave. This is not the first place I have lived at that has bored me after two months. When my social security kicks in I am going to…

Warsaw: May 31 – June 03, 2019

Posted on 06/03/2019 by margrad80

As May was drawing to an end, I really didn’t feel like going to a museum, but I needed to get some exercise, so I walked down to Saxon park to get a better photograph of the statue I had photographed walking back from the Royal Castle. It was as I suspected. In was another…

An Unscheduled Vacation From Blogging

Posted on 05/23/201905/22/2019 by margrad80

It all started with the rain. It has been a long time since I have lived anywhere, where the rain can continue day after day. I am used to an occasional day of rain, or even more often just a morning or afternoon of rain. So I really didn’t think to check the ten day…

Warsaw: April 20, 2019

It looks like Saturday nights are going to be my nights out in Warsaw. While my schedule is wide open, Gina’s schedule is a normal work week. On this Saturday I headed out early to meet Gina at Być Może, a small cafe and bakery, about seven kilometers from my place. I decided that walking…

Warsaw: April 11- 16, 2019

Posted on 04/16/201904/22/2019 by margrad80

Though I had a great time visiting with my friends on the mainland, I am glad to be roving the world again. My temporary home for the next three months is Warsaw, Poland. I chose Warsaw mainly because it looked like a very walkable city. The places I was considering all met with my two…

A Business Trip: April 3-6, 2019

Posted on 04/13/201904/13/2019 by margrad80

I had to fly up to Indianapolis on business for a few days. I used Southwest Vacations to book my hotel and rental car at the same time. I have to admit that I will never use Southwest Vacations again. They charged me for my hotel, but didn’t pay the hotel, so I had to…

My Inconvenient Live

I am a retired American Merchant Mariner.  l was living a nomadic lifestyle somewhere between being a nomad and an expat, before Covid19. I moved from country to country as my visas ran out. This blog covered my travels and the random thoughts about life, technology, travel, and the Oxford comma. Now I am stuck waiting for the pandemic to pass. During this time my posts will have very little to do with traveling, and more to do with keeping myself entertained during lockdown.
